The haunting of the cave located on the property of Chris Kirby started in about 1817.  Prior to that date any activity had not been associated with what has popularly been tagged the Bell Witch haunting. Citizens of Adams, Tennessee began to experience strange sounds, which commonly associate themselves with poltergeist activity, although it was not just in one place, it was in several houses in town. Which is a little far fetched by any interpretation. And brings to question the theory of poltergeist, which in part claims that individuals may be responsible for the sounds and movement of objects. Although that does occur on occassions it is not the case for the locationwhich has been named "Bell Witch Cave". Dan and Carol Gist investigated this cave on June 17, 2000 at 10:05 AM CST with Chris Kirby by their side. No tourists or other individuals were in the area at all who could be the source of the sounds, activity, and infrared images which were captured by the Gists. Thermal scanner was placed 4 feet from an area in which the Kirbys have witnessed bizzare photography taken of visitors to the cave.  Although there was not a temperature change in that area, the meter read 6.66 for a matter of 25 seconds.   Combined with that is video footage which shows the photographer Carol Gist's legs running away from her own body and various dragon and unidentifiable creatures coming and going from a spot over an indian grave box. Two witnesses saw Carol Gist begin breathing large amounts of extremely cold air in an area which had the temperature of 64 degrees on the scanner.   Another ghost team, The Tennessee Ghost Hunters happened on the scene as the investigators left the cave and our experiences matched those which they had two weeks earlier. Entities which were experienced in the cave included a young boy, a man, and an indian man and woman.  Each of these individuals were captured on film and at times were audible in the cave which is composed of various lightly magnetic ores. We feel the composition of the cave makes it a valid place for further research due to its conductive characteristics which make it an area in which a haunting can occur at any moment.
