Case Location History:
This library is in a renovated 200+
year old building, formerly used as a manufacturing facility that made
millitary vehicles during WW2. The library had only been located in this
building for a brief 3 months before strange occurances starting happening.
Reported Phenomena:
Staff and visitors (who have reported
to the staff) have made claims of being touched, unexplainable cold breezes,
phantom voices and shadows. This is on top of dreadfull feelings in certain
rooms and book shelves.
Investigation:
Our team arrived at the library and
set up our equipment in a centralized location in the reading area of the
library. Since it was well after hours, we did not have to be quiet like
in a normal library. We had total access of the entire facility and we
took the opportunity to completely explore it. We began with a visual inspection
of the buildings interior. We looked at all of the overhead plumbing, electrical
wiring and other structural parts of the building, for possible causes
of NATURAL phenomena. Through this initial tour of the building, we found
only one possible explaination into phenomena: The ceilling was not shingled,
therefore it casted a knocked/rapping sound throughout the main section
of the library. No other natural causes were noted.
We focused our primary paranormal investigation
in two areas: 1. The Rare book area - used to store and preserve books
more than 150 years old. 2. The Public Cafeteria - Located in the rear
of the library.
These two areas were the main areas the phenomena have been reported in.
Rare Book Room:
Investigator using single axis EMF
meter in rare book room.
We started with a lengthy EMF walk through using single axis EMF meters and a natural TriField meter. This area seemed to have a stable natual EMF field when the TriField meter was placed in a stationary location in several spots. When probing the room with the single axis meter, we found some interesting EMF spikes registering @ 7.5 at a brief point during the night. This 7.5 reading was never able to be repeated using the same criteria as before. The room also yielded some orb anomalies in a couple of the perimeter offices, however that was the extent of the photographic evidence. We did manage to record some rather interesting and unexplainable EVP recordings from the room. We recorded a strange rattling sound (LOUD AND VIOLENT) as we approached the EVP recorder from a distance of 50+ feet. Also capture EVP included a female voice and strange tapping sounds in 10 second intervals. The Sony Nightshot video camera had been set up in a 0 LUX environment however did not yield any evidence while in the Rare Book Room.

Public Cafeteria:
While in the cafeteria we surveyed
the room for EMF spikes and fluxuations. We found the normal HIGH concentration
originating from some microwave ovens. This reading was about 15mG about
about 4 ft distance! Therefore the EMF overall in the room was reading
a bit high @ 5.1mG. EVP recordings were conducted in the room however yielded
no evidence. The Sony nightshot camera was positioned on a table pointing
towards the hallway. A hallway in which an apparition is commonly seen.
This set up on the Nightshot camera yielded fantastic orb evidence, in
which an orb is seen passing in front of the table and at the same time
sets off the TriField meter! Routine photographs were taken yet yielding
nothing.

Summary:
We beleive that the old library may
have indeed a female and a male presence within its perimeter. However
the evidence collected in the still photography realm was unnaturally uneventfull.
We would love to take a future opportunity to further examine the old library.
